10 Things Everyone Should Know About the Korean War

1. 6.8 million served on active-duty during the Korean War.
2. It lasted from 1950-1953.
3. The Korean War memorial was built in 1994.
4. Open war was never declared.
5. Communist North Korea declared war on non-communist South Korea.
6. The US got involved because it had vowed to protect the world from the spread of communism.
7. The Chinese were involved in the war too.
8. 1.3 milion US casulties.
9. The US spent 20 billion dollars on the war.
10. The war was never declared over, just a cease fire, the tensions with North Korea are still high.
